West Allis FARMERS MARKET

The West Allis Farmers Market has been welcoming visitors from across SE Wisconsin since 1919. The largest open-air market in the Milwaukee area today anchors a growing commercial district that includes Ope! Brewing, Al Pastor Mexican restaurant and the Maker’s Row development.

The BLOCKS OF BECHER

The Blocks of Becher has been called “West Allis’ worst kept secret”. The corridor between the 68th and 70th Streets – home to the West Allis Cheese Shoppe, Wild Roots and Station No. 06, among others – has become a destination for foodies visiting the Milwaukee area.

A foodie’s mecca, West Allis offers a diverse array of culinary comforts including Peruvian stews, latin-inspired enchiladas, spicy seafood and cheesy chicken pot gratins. German dishes, BBQ meats and brick oven pizzas also fill the menus. Local ingredients are also a highlight amongst the West Allis food culture with inspiration from the farmers market as well as produce and honey grown right in restaurant owners’ backyards. Once you’ve filled up on some delicious grub, get ready for some local activity! The West Allis Farmers Market is a thriving scene, featuring local vendors three times a week from May to November. You’ll discover live music, food and beer trucks, and a vibrant array of locally grown produce and flowers. West Allis also offers city-wide festivals that bring the community together including food truck Fridays, their Summer Concert Series, a La Carte Street Festival and the Tour of America’s Dairyland Bike Race. Radke park is another hot spot for locals to come together and practice tricks on bikes, skateboards and scooters.
